Search For Missing Samantha Murphy

Victoria Police say things found in bushland today are not applicable to the find for missing lady Samantha Murphy.

Ms Murphy, 51, failed to get back on Sunday morning after going out for her regular run in the neighboring state forest.

Emergency service vehicles briefly hindered an entry to the Woowoo Karung Territorial Park, across the street from her home, after things were found in bushland today.

In a media release, police demonstrated that the things found were not associated with the search.

Investigators inspecting footage from the region accept that Ms Murphy was running along Eureka Street and was caught on CCTV close to the crossing point of Warrenheip Street at around 7:16 am, running towards Yankee Flat Road.

Police are currently asking residents nearby to check their CCTV footage from somewhere in the time domain of 7:00 am and 11:00 am.

Ms Murphy’s friends and loved ones are hopeful that she will be found soon.

Police have portrayed Ms Murphy’s disappearance as bizarre as she knew all about the paths as she consistently ran and walked on the same route every day.

The hot weather on Sunday, with temperatures about 36 degrees Celsius in Ballarat, in an area of Victoria covered with a large number of neglected mines, has increased the worry for her welfare.

A public Facebook group has been set up for Samantha Murphy by the community members to communicate areas they have searched for her.

It has attracted more than 4,000 volunteers.

The search area expanded to areas like bushland around Black Hill, Brown Hill, and Nerrina on Tuesday afternoon.

Victoria Police earlier said that the search area was based on data from Ms Murphy’s phone and areas she consistently went for running.

It is not known what led to the increase in the search area to Black Hill, but Victoria Police said that the search area was “fluid.”

A community information notice board outside the Buninyong Police Station is making people hopeful to search tracks and sides of tracks for anything, like a phone, watch or earpods, related to Ms Murphy.
