Amidst the war situation, families of hostages have gone far away from the limits. In the fourth month of war, the demonstration is growing for the fate of hostages. The relatives of Israelis protested to take action for the release of their loved ones. There were around more than 200 hostages, out of which 100 were released in November, while others are still in Gaza’s hands.
During a meeting conducted in the Israeli parliament, many people showed anger towards the negligence of the administrators towards the hostages. On Monday, a group of around twenty people who are expected to be the relatives of the hostages illustrated the aggression against the decision of the Prime Minister.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu refused to agree to the deal with the Palestinian group. On this behavior, the citizens criticized the decision of the Prime Minister and showed their anger by demonstrating in the parliament and road shows.
Many of the protesters are holding flags and banners raising support for the hostages. Meanwhile, a protester woman chanted, “Just one I would like to get alive, just one out of three.” While chanting this slogan, she entered the Knesset Finance Committee during a discussion. This was going on the one side while on the other side, some protesters clad in black colored T-shirts, holding up signs reading “You will not sit here while they die there.” Moreover, they repeatedly raised their voices, “Release them now, now, now”. The scene was very pathetic, filled with care and love for the loved ones.
The obvious reason for taking this step might be the fear of relatives. They feared that the war situation and fatigue might soften their focus on this problem. Demonstrations which are initially started for national unity soon get ignited and become more aggressive than expected. However, parliament ushered in a hurry to eject the protesters during the Knesset Finance Committee. While all this is happening, one lawmaker is shown as covering his face with her hands.
Moshe Gafni, panel chairman and head of the Jewish party, stood up and sought to let the protesters calm down.
