His family informed that he had been diagnosed with a disease a few days ago which was an incurable condition of the spinal cord. The music world is mourning his death. Following his death, his daughter Dionne Clarkin said in a statement:
“On behalf of the family, it is with great sadness that daughter Dionne Clarkin shares the news of the passing of Tony Clarkin. After a short illness, he passed away peacefully.” Surrounded by his girls on Sunday 7th January 2024.
