David Jason announced on March 27 that he was “delighted” to find out he has a 52-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old grandson. The Only Fool and Horse star, who also has a daughter, said it would be an understatement to say he was surprised by the sudden revelation.
Who is David Jason?
Sir David John White OBE, who is known professionally among his fans by his popular stage name David Jason, is an English actor, who was born on 2nd February in the year 1940. Arthur Robert White, who is Jason’s father, was a porter at the Billingsgate Fish Market, whereas Olwen Jones, who is his mother, from Merthyr Tydfil, Glamorgan, Wales, worked as a cleaner.
Olwen gave birth to her twins in February of the year 1940 at North Her Middle Hospital in Edmonton, London. However, Jason’s twin brother died during childbirth, leaving him with no twins.
Who is David Jason’s Wife?
David began relations his wife Gil after his longtime partner, Welsh actress Mifanwi Tarog, died of breast cancer in the year 1995 when she was just 45 years old. Like her husband, Gil is also involved in the entertainment industry, as she works behind the scenes with ITV as an assistant director and producer. Moreover, she has also previously worked on shows such as Emmerdale, Stay Lucky, The Darling Buds of May, and Heartbeat.
Gil was born in the year 1960, which ultimately makes her 20 years younger than David, whom she met in the 1990s. The mostly private couple welcomed their daughter Sophie in the year 2001 when Gil was 41 years old whereas David was 61 years old. Jason and Gil then got married four years later in the year 2005.
Speaking about the wedding, David previously told a magazine that he was married to Gil in the year 2005 at the Dorchester Hotel on the eve of the Knighthood. He added that the couple discussed their marriage over and over again, however, they couldn’t find a plan that wouldn’t make a fuss.
Speaking about the wedding, David stated that it was the happiest time of his life as the next morning when he woke up, he woke up as a married man and was not instantly single.
David Welcomes His Unknown Daughter Into The Family
David was very shocked to find out recently in March that he had a 52-year-old daughter named Abi. Harris, the daughter of actress Jennifer Hill, who starred in the James Bond film Octopussy, was born in 1970 after a brief relationship between her mother and Sir David. Speaking to The Mirror about his eldest daughter’s studies, David said that it was fair to say he was surprised to find out he had a daughter all those years ago.
He added however, he was very delighted by the news that he was happy to see Abi, and that he will always be available to her. His wife Gil and daughter Sophie were very supportive and understanding about Abi as they welcomed Abi while hugging her along with her young son into their family.
