There have not been many players that have come out about their sexuality in the world of soccer. Many people still view it as contentious, despite the fact that it has been discussed. One of the primary reasons why people do not come out of the closet is because they do not want to deal with the issues that can develop when they reveal their gender or what they identify as. Even fewer people play soccer, so the percentage is smaller there. However, Jakub Jankto, a player for the Czech Republic, has lately come out as homosexual, which has had people talking all around the world.
He said in a statement, “Like everyone else, I have my skills and I have my shortcomings. I have a family and I have my friends. I am employed, and I approach my work with all of the sincerity, professionalism, and enthusiasm that I can muster. I have been performing this job for many years. Just like everyone else, I want to be able to live my life without restrictions, free from fears, free from prejudice, and free from violence, but filled with love instead. I am a gay, and I no longer wish to keep my orientation a secret.
The news that Jakub revealed has sent shockwaves through the soccer community. The primary reason for this would be due to the fact that it is not very often that a player comes out and tells the world about his sexual orientation or gender identity.
Did Jakub Jankto have a girlfriend?
Few people will be familiar with Jakub’s identity. He is a member of the senior national team of the Czech Republic, where he has played 45 times and scored 4 goals during his career. Before relocating to Italy and playing for Udinese, he began his professional soccer career in his home country with Slavia Prague. In Italy, he played for Udinese. It was there that Jakub made his debut for the senior team.
Following that, the midfielder went on to play 65 times for the club between the years of 2015 and 2019. Jankto was able to secure a permanent transfer to Sampdoria after spending time on loan at Ascoli and the previous club. Once more, he made 65 separate appearances in this location. Jankto is currently a member of Sparta Prague after the club recruited him on a loan in 2022. Previously, he was a player for the La Liga team Getafe, for whom he appeared 13 times.
Jakub’s ex-girlfriend was the model Marketa Ottomanska; their relationship lasted for a while. There is no record of when or how the exes first became acquainted with one another. On the other hand, they have been photographed taking pictures with their son DJ. On Marketa’s Instagram profile, the two of them appear together rather frequently. In the past, she has also posted pictures of herself and Jakub together. The fact that Jakub has come out as gay leads us to believe that he and his ex-girlfriend have parted ways for good a while ago. This is a reasonable assumption in light of Jakub’s revelation.
