An “arrest has been made in connection with the death investigation of Luz Hernandez,” according to a tweet from the office on Friday. However, the office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Fox News Digital.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Hernandez’s body was discovered while Jersey City Police were performing a welfare check at her home. Hernandez was a mother of three and a teacher at BelovED Charter School.
The Homicide Unit in Kearny, New Jersey, discovered what appeared to be a shallow grave over the course of the inquiry, according to a statement from Suarez’s office. A short while later, the body of a woman was discovered. She was later identified as Luz Hernandez, 33, of Jersey City, and she was declared dead at the scene at 4:53 p.m.
