On paper, Andy Samberg and Joanna Newsom might seem like one of the most unlikely couples in the entertainment business. Still, they’ve been going strong for more than ten years. Their first meeting was in 2008.
The Brooklyn Nine-Nine star who likes d**k jokes and the ethereal, fairy-voiced harpist met in a cute way thanks to Fred Armisen, a Saturday Night Live comedian who is friends with Sandberg.
Armisen was the one who put them together at one of Newsom’s shows. But Samberg and Newsom were already big fans of each other’s work before that funny meeting.
Andy Samberg was insulted by Joanna Newsom The First Time They Met:
Samberg has never tried to hide the fact that he loved Joanna Newsom’s music before they met. The harpist also said that she liked his cameo in The Lonely Island’s Just 2 Guyz sketch video. Samberg has a small part in that skit. He plays Steve the c**t, which is how Newsom called him the first time they met.
“I really liked him. In fact, Fred Armisen brought him to one of my shows the night I met him “In 2016, Newsom said this to Seth Meyers.
“I had just been watching Just 2 Guyz with my band backstage about an hour before,” she continued. “He plays Steve the c**t. So when I met him, he was kind of shy, and I said, “Oh, my God, you’re Steve the c**t!” He always says that he saw bubbles in the heart.”
Meyers is a good friend of Samberg’s, and he thought that their first meeting was perfect.
Andy Samberg is a big fan of his wife’s music.
After they met for the first time, the two started dating. They got married in California in September 2013 in front of a lot of famous people. Even though Samberg and Newsom were known to be very private about their relationship, they couldn’t help but talk about each other in interviews.
In a 2015 interview with Larry King, Newsom said of Samberg, “He’s my favourite person in the world.”
“He’s the person I’d like to hang out with the most at any time.”
She said that Samberg is “probably my biggest fan” and that he “loves the harp.”
In 2017, the actor told Magnet that he still loved his wife’s music “I’m a big fan of her music, too, and that’s how we met. At her show, I met her.”
