After a lacklustre performance in the fourth quarter, Kendrick Perkins suggests that they trade. Ben Simmons agrees.

Ben Simmons has shown a few signs of his potential during the 2022–23 season. Kendrick Perkins, who used to play in the NBA and now works as an analyst for the league, thinks it hasn’t been enough.

Even though the Brooklyn Nets got off to a slow start this season, they are now 29-18 and are making progress in the Eastern Conference while they wait for their star player Kevin Durant to come back from injury. When Brooklyn was in good shape, they were one of the toughest teams in the Eastern Conference to play.

Ben Simmons has had trouble finding his rhythm late in games, even though he looked like he was getting there earlier. Simmons doesn’t seem very sure of himself when he’s on offence. He is making 57.4% of his shots from the field but only 44.6% of his free throws. This gives him 7.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game.

On the ESPN show “NBA Today,” Perkins said that it shouldn’t be out of the question for the Nets to try to trade Simmons. Perkins said that Brooklyn has been playing well, but that Simmons’s unwillingness to play has been a worry for the team.

Perkins said that if he were the Brooklyn Nets and the trade deadline was coming up, he might think about sending Ben Simmons to another team. “He couldn’t play yesterday evening, late in the fourth quarter, when it was getting close” (in a 137-133 loss at the Philadelphia 76ers). You couldn’t get him down on the ground.”

Ben Simmons and the Brooklyn Nets are still looking for his offensive rhythm.

Since Ben Simmons missed all of last season, it was to be expected that he would show some signs of rust this season. Simmons has given some great performances, but he still seems to lack confidence.

Simmons has averaged 7.0 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 8.5 assists in the last seven games he has played. One of these games was against the Boston Celtics, which his team lost 109-98. He had no points, nine rebounds, and 13 assists. Brooklyn has lost each of the last five games it has played.

Brooklyn has a lot of offensive firepower in players like Seth Curry, Kyrie Irving, and Kevin Durant, who play with Simmons. The game is almost over, but Simmons still doesn’t have a lot of people’s trust. When games are getting close to the end, the Nets often put him on the bench.

Because the NBA trade deadline is getting closer, Brooklyn will have to look into all of its options if it wants to improve its team.

The Brooklyn Nets can compete for a spot in the playoffs in the Eastern Conference, as long as no one gets hurt. Nic Claxton’s great play as a rising star has also given the Nets another deadly weapon that they could use in different spots in their lineup.
