This morning, a text message informed the parents of the kids at the school of the closure (January 4).
A school representative stated that the incident was unrelated to the school. Additionally, they indicated that they were awaiting more information from the police.
As they stated to BlackCountryLive: “I can confirm that Ellowes Hall Sports College will be closed today owing to a separate police issue. We are awaiting further information to be shared with us.”
Why Ellowes Hall Sports College has been Closed?
Today, January 4, a Black Country school was closed while bomb disposal specialists from the Army looked into objects they had discovered nearby. This morning, parents were informed of the news by text message from Ellowes Hall Sports College in Dudley.
Yesterday, January 3, at around 10:00 p.m., a member of the public found the goods on property close to Old Quarry Drive in Upper Gornal. Explosive Ordnance Disposal specialists examined them in playing areas close to the location.
Despite not being involved in the finding, the school chose to stay closed while police conducted their inquiries, according to authorities.

BlackCountryLive received the following statement from West Midlands Police: “We were contacted at around 10:20 p.m. yesterday after a public member found suspicious objects on land close to Old Quarry Drive in Upper Gornal.
The artefacts were taken as a precaution to the Ellowes Hall Sports College playing fields so that the Army’s EOD squad could investigate them. Although the school is unrelated to the finding, we are in contact with them.
Are there any Suspicious items Found?
For a bomb squad to check “suspect things” close by, a school has been evacuated. Around 10 p.m. on January 3, the artefacts were discovered on a piece of property next to Old Quarry Drive in Upper Gornal, and they were later brought to the sports fields.
They had instead been alerted to the suspicious objects by a member of the public. A West Midlands Police spokesman said: “We were called by a member of the people at around 10:20 last night after the discovery of suspicious objects on the ground close to Old Quarry Drive in Upper Gornal.
The goods were transferred to the athletic fields at Ellowes Hall Sports College as a precaution so that the Army’s EOD squad could investigate them.
