Why did the police arrest, Andrew Tate?
In Bucharest, British-American Tate and his brother Tristan were detained on suspicion of human trafficking. According to reports, controversial online influencer Andrew Tate was detained in Romania as part of a rape and human trafficking investigation.
He was under investigation for human trafficking concerning the disappearance of two women months earlier.
Today, Andrew Tate’s opulent Romanian mansion in Bucharest allegedly came under a police raid. He responded to Greta Thunberg’s recent Twitter roast of him by posting a video, which prompted the attack on his residence.
The brothers’ attorney confirmed their imprisonment, according to Reuters. Police in Romania needed proof that Tate was in the country before they could raid his home.
Tate is seen taking two boxes of pizza from Jerry’s Pizza, a neighbouring Romanian business, in the video he posted on Twitter while smoking a cigar and wearing a robe.
Twitter feud with Greta Thunberg:
Tate was arrested due to a report to the US Embassy alleging that an American woman was being held against her will at their home.
Recently, Greta Thunberg and Andrew Tate engaged in a Twitter argument. Around three million viewers favoured her roast.
Tate rose to fame online after making several remarks against women, including that they “have some culpability” for being abused. On Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok, Tate has a huge teen fan base.
Numerous advocacy groups have attacked Mr Tate for his viewpoints and warned kids to stay away from him on social media because of his threat.
Who is Andrew Tate?
Tate, a British national born in the US, was a world-champion kickboxer before becoming well-known worldwide. Mr Tate moved to Romania five years before.
He later garnered notoriety online and was suspended from Twitter due to his remarks that women should “carry responsibility” for experiencing sexual assault. Later, he was offered a second chance.
Since April, the brothers and two citizens of Romania have been the subject of an inquiry. According to a social media video that has gone viral, Mr Tate and his brother are being carried out of a luxurious villa.
The Office of Organized Crime Investigation and Terrorism in Romania has issued a statement (DIICOT) which did not specifically mention the Tate brothers, two British and two Romanian citizens were accused of being part of a criminal gang that specialised in people trafficking.
There was also a video of the raid that was released, and it showed cash, weapons, and knives on display in one spot.
Tate has been banned from Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and TikTok, the last of which declared that “misogyny is a vile ideology that is not tolerated.”
