One assistant superintendent of police is accused of shooting and killing one Barrister Bolanle Raheem in the southwest Nigerian city of Lagos, according to the Lagos State Police Command.

According to Hundeyin, they left the victim’s lifeless body at Mainland General Hospital.
What happened to Bolanle Raheem?
An attorney named Bolanle Raheem from Lagos was killed on Sunday. She reportedly died after being shot by an unnamed policeman assigned to the Lagos police command.
Some police officers from the Ajiwe police station in Ajah reportedly ordered the automobile to stop, and unpredictably, one of the cops is said to have fired a gunshot at the car, which is thought to have struck the lawyer.
On Christmas Day, while the lawyer and her husband were travelling home after a church service, a police officer opened fire on their vehicle.
The policeman and other police officers fled the scene after killing the victim. The incident happened underneath the Ajah bridge on the Lekki-Epe highway. As soon as the tragedy occurred, the victim was brought to the hospital, but upon arrival, the physicians declared her dead.

A lawyer named Yvonne wrote about what transpired in a statement on social media that reads,
I’m Barr. Yvonne is a participant in the NBA Lagos Branch. Sir, I tried to get in touch with you, but I assume you are busy. A police officer shot and killed my employer Barr Omobolanle Raheem today as she was returning from a Christmas ceremony at Ajah under the bridge, according to Ms Yvonne.
She said, “Her family just called me, saying they need a lawyer to represent them before the cops change the story. The Ajiwe Police Station has been informed of the situation. The policeman is a member of the Ajiwe station. Omobolanle was sat in the front with her husband, Barr, who was also the driver.
According to Ms Yvonee, the accused officer instructed the couple to park, and when “they wanted the vehicle in front of them to move so they could park well, the police officer shot at a close range right into her chest, instantly.”
“When they saw what happened, the other police officers who were on duty there fled,” she continued. After some time had passed, some police officers arrived and transported her body to the Yaba mortuary without asking her family for permission.

‘Unfortunate incident’- Police says:

According to Benjamin Hundeyin, a spokesman for the Lagos police command, who confirmed the event, the assistant superintendent of police (ASP) who opened fire at the dead officer and two other police officers is currently being held in jail.
The State Criminal Inquiry Department has been tasked with conducting an inquiry, according to the command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin.
It was a regrettable and preventable incident. The ASP who was shot and two other people have already been arrested. The SCID will take them for further inquiry, according to Mr Hundeyin.
