Police have appealed for information on the “callous shooting” that left a lady dead at a bar in Merseyside on Christmas Eve.
Police don’t think the 26-year-old victim, who was celebrating with her sister and friends, was the intended victim; instead, they believe that four other people were injured.
At approximately 23:50 GMT on Saturday, according to police, the shooter opened a shooting on The Lighthouse’s main door in Wallasey Village, Wirral.

Lighthouse Pub: Statement
A statement from The Lighthouse Pub stated that they were in “utter disbelief” and that the situation was “a tragedy beyond all words. We are all thinking of the friends and family of our clients, and our hearts go out, especially to the deceased customer’s family. Our primary focus is aiding those affected, and the police have been given access to CCTV footage.
A representative said that those who made reservations for Christmas Day were receiving calls offering refunds. Local homeowner Jenny Hough reported she heard gunfire but mistook it for holiday fireworks. The occurrence was “a huge shock,” the 77-year-old said.
She said, “My sister’s garden had been vandalised. We presume that people trying to leave the pub by climbing the wall broke through her property.
What happened at the scene?
This pub used to be a bustling, busy place with plenty of young people. The televisions are still on, so it seems like the morning after a party.
There are still bottles all over the table from when people celebrated Christmas. It is dreadful for family and friends at any time, but it isn’t enjoyable around Christmas. Anyone who witnessed the incident and has video or other information is urged to contact the police.
The pub serves as a gathering place for the community, according to Jeffrey Hughes, minister of the United Reformed Church in Wallasey Village. It’s a lovely area in Wallasey, he continued, adding that the neighbourhood was “very busy.” There are a lot of families and kids there, he said. This morning’s news informed us that Wallasey Village is the last place you would imagine when you hear of a shooting.

How did the beautician Elle Edwards die?
The Lighthouse Inn in Wallasey, Merseyside, saw a flurry of emergency personnel on December 24. A 26-year-old lady died after being transported to the hospital with an injury consistent with a gunshot wound. One other person harmed in the incident, a 28-year-old guy, is in critical condition.
Held a press conference the day after Christmas. Merseyside Police said that the shooter had no intention of shooting the woman. She had merely been out “enjoying Christmas with her sister and friend” during what should have been a quiet time.
According to Detective Superintendent Sue Coombs, the victim, a 26-year-old woman, had a significant gunshot wound to the head.
She was sent to the hospital at Arrowe Park, where sadly, she soon passed away. Today, a day for friends to celebrate has been designated as a day of mourning for her family, who have been informed. In this case, we do not believe the victim has been specifically targeted, even if the investigation is still in its early stages.
