A wolf in sheep’s clothes is well-known, but how about a bank robber in wolf’s attire?
ChiefsAholic, actual name Xavier Michael Babudar, is a Kansas City Chiefs superfan who is noted for donning a KC Wolf costume to Arrowhead Stadium and Chiefs away games. He was, however, conspicuously absent from Sunday’s game in Houston, both in the stands and on social media. Since December 16, the @ChiefsAholic Twitter account had been dormant, prompting suspicion among other Chiefs supporters online.
A thorough investigation by fellow fans soon revealed why the account had gone quiet – Babudar was arrested that morning for stealing a bank.
According to Tulsa County Jail records, Babudar was arrested for an armed robbery around 10:15 a.m. local time on Friday. According to Emily Farris of 2 News Oklahoma, police reacted to an armed robbery at the Tulsa Teachers Credit Union in Bixby, Okla., with an eyewitness providing a description of the perpetrator and the direction he went. According to FOX 23, Bixby police set up a perimeter and captured the guy, who was carrying a handgun and vast sums of cash. There were no recorded physical injuries to bank personnel or bystanders.
Some defensive standouts from the Kansas City
On a Saturday day when Travis Kelce established new career highs, Patrick Mahomes produced some jaw-dropping plays, and Isiah Pacheco made his case for more touches, it was the Kansas City Chiefs defence that drew the most attention in Week 16. After all, it was the unit’s near-flawless effort that enabled K.C. to defeat the visiting Seattle Seahawks 24-10.
The Chiefs won their 12th game on Saturday, with only three defeats, thanks to a solid defensive performance against Geno Smith and the Seahawks attack. Steve Spagnuolo, the defensive coordinator, devised an excellent game plan, and his guys delivered on every level. It was the kind of inspired performance that supporters had been hoping to see from them for a long time, and it’s encouraging to watch with the playoffs so close.
While the offensive players deserve their time in the limelight, we thought we’d look at a few defensive players that stood out on Saturday.
Willie Gay Jr
Willie Gay Jr. has been a source of consternation in recent weeks. In other ways, he has struggled in coverage, particularly against inferior opponents, and the Chiefs have suffered as a result. At the same time, no Chiefs linebacker can match his athleticism or complete skill set, and his recent pick-six demonstrates just how effective he can be at any given time.
Despite this, Spags has insisted on giving Darius Harris more playing time in recent games since he’s reportedly a coaching favourite—which is fine—but when that playing time comes at the expense of someone who is clearly gifted to play football, it becomes a serious concern.
