Spanish tennis player Pablo Carreo Busta competes professionally. The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) gave him a ranking of No. 10 in the world, which he first attained on September 11, 2017. On July 17, 2017, he also attained a best doubles ranking of No. 16.
He has won four doubles championships on the ATP Tour in addition to seven singles victories, including a Masters 1000 victory at the Canadian Open. Carreo Busta, who competed for Spain, defeated Novak Djokovic on route to winning the men’s singles bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. She also played on the 2019 Davis Cup-winning Spanish team.
At the 2011 Barcelona Open, where he made his debut on the ATP Tour, he was defeated by Benoît Paire in the opening round. In ITF Futures competitions, he has advanced to 18 singles finals and won 11 of them, including one each in 2009, 2010, and 2013. Due to an injury, he missed the most of the 2012 season and later that year had back surgery. After recovering for five months, Carreo returned to 2012’s final stages, participating in four Futures events before year’s end, all of which were held in Morocco, even though he failed to make it past the quarterfinals in any of them.
He was ranked 715th individually after the year was through. Carreo Busta began his 2022 campaign in the ATP Cup while playing for Spain. In the group stage, he was undefeated in singles, defeating opponents Viktor Durasovic of Norway, Alejandro Tabilo of Chile, and Filip Krajinovi of Serbia to help Spain advance to the semifinals. Spain advanced to the final thanks to Carreo Busta’s victory against Jan Zieliski in the semifinal matchup with Poland.

Carreo Busta has two sisters, Luca and Alicia, and was born in Gijón to parents Alfonso Carreo Morrondo and Mara Antonia Busta Vallina. Currently residing in Barcelona, he attends the JC Ferrero Equelite Sport Academy in Alicante for his training. In December 2021, he wed tax advisor Claudia Daz Borrego. Carreo Busta began his 2022 campaign in the ATP Cup while playing for Spain.
