Franco Harris was born in New Jersey on March 7, 1950. He was a famous professional football player in New Jersey. He started playing running back in the National Football League (NFL) for continue 13 seasons for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Cad Harris, his father, was a black soldier who served in World War II and was stationed in Italy during the time of war. His mother was named Gina Parenti Harris. She was a native of Italy and became a “war bride”. She moved with her husband and returned to the United States after the end of the war.
Harris passed his graduation in 1968 from Rancocas Valley Regional High School in Mount Holly Township, situated in New Jersey. Later on, he attended Penn State University and there he played in the Nittany Lions football team.

Harris passed away on 20 December 2022, at the age of 72 at his home in Sewickley situated in Pennsylvania. He passed away just three days before the 50th anniversary of the “Immaculate Reception”. Harris’s death was supposed to be sudden because he was active on social media just some days before his death.
To retire his jersey number he was set to attend a ceremony at halftime on 24 December 2022 during a Steelers game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
