Patrick Okabe road accident: Explained? The Isuzu box body driver has been blamed for the accident.

According to the police report, while travelling from Mbale to Iganga in a land cruiser with the registration number UBK 995F, the deceased man collided head-on with an Isuzu Fuso with the registration number KCX 0710.

According to a statement released by parliament this morning, funeral plans will shortly be made public.

The MPS car’s driver, Jacob, was admitted to the regional hospital in critical condition, according to police traffic spokesman Farida Nampiima.

She has determined that the Fuso’s driver, who is currently on the run, drifted from his side of the road, which led to the collision.

The parliamentary members have begun honouring the deceased. The speaker, Anita Among, remembered the dead as a brother and colleague.

The Serere district representative from Pingire county, Fred Opolot, has praised his counterpart as a friend and a mentor who made many sacrifices to strengthen his constituency.

The Isuzu box body driver has been blamed for the accident

According to Alaso, the Isuzu box body driver is responsible for the collision since he veered from his side to the side of the Landcruiser heading from Mbale to Iganga.

The politician died right afterwards, according to the Bukedi North police spokesperson. At the same time, his wife, Christine Okabe, was rushed to the Mbale regional referral hospital in critical condition but ultimately perished tragically.

Jacob, the Land Cruiser’s driver, is still in critical condition at the Mbale regional referral hospital. The truck driver is currently on the run, according to ASP Alaso, as investigations into the accident’s actual cause continue.

Who was Patrick Okabe?

Bishop Patrick Okabe (NRM) represents Serere County in the House of Representatives. While Okabe has rarely spoken in the House of Representatives since his election in 2016, our Parliament snipers have repeatedly observed him discussing “how to get more money” with a few of his fellow Teso MPs in the House of Representative’s hallways.

Most of the schools in Serere are in poor condition, but the local MP has never voiced any concern about this problem. There is just one pit latrine on the grounds, which both instructors and children use, and there are no desks, blackboards, or classrooms at Nananga Community Primary School one of the schools.

Community people started the school, but the government subsequently took it over. Okabe defeated Opio Joseph Linos in the 2016 elections, but the Electoral Commission pronounced Okabe’s victory unlawful due to a transgression of the electoral laws (EC).

Mr Opio, who lost to Okabe, filed a complaint in court challenging the election results. He claimed that the Electoral Commission and the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE) breached the law in approving Mr Okabe’s nomination.

Mr Opio argued at the petition hearing that Mr Okabe lacked the academic credentials required to hold office as a member of parliament and that the elections had not been conducted legally.

His name, party logo, and image were allegedly purposely omitted from the ballot, depriving his supporters of the chance to cast a vote.

According to rumours, Okabe used two names during his senior year at Ayer Secondary School: Patrick Okabe for nominations and Ocen Oliba Patrick for academic assignments.

The court of appeals, however, overturned the decision because Mr Opio lacked the authority to contest Okabe’s victory, and there was no evidence that he had been relatively selected as a candidate for the recently held elections.
