Who is Enzo Fernandez Parents? Second Youngest Player of Argentina in FIFA World Cup 2022

Enzo Fernandez was born in San Martin situated in Argentina on 17 January 2001. He is a famous professional footballer who plays for Primeira Liga club Benfica and the Argentina national team as a central midfielder.

He is an academy graduate of River Plate Academy. Before spending continues two seasons with Defensa y Justicia on loan IN 2019, Fernandez played and made his first-team debut for the club. Before returning to River Plate in 2021,  he enjoyed a successful campaign which won him the Copa Sudamericana and Recopa Sudamericana. After returning, Fernandez made himself an integral player for River Plate in the following years and later won the Argentine Primera Division. He joined Benfica in July 2022.

Before making his senior international debut in the year 2022, Fernandez represented his country at the under-18 level. He was also part of the squad that represented in the 2022 FIFA World Cup and also won the tournament’s Best Young Player Award.

Fernandez was among the five brothers who started playing football at the age of six for local side Club La Recova, he was playing before joining River Plate in 2006. After successfully completing thirteen years through the ranks, Fernandez was later promoted by the manager Marcelo Gallardo into the club’s first team on 27 January 2019. On 4 March 2020, he made his first-team debut by replacing Santiago Sosa.

Fernandez got selected to represent his nation at the 2019 COTIF Tournament in Spain by the Argentina U18s manager Esteban Solari on 24 July 2019. He was called up for two 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Brazil and Uruguay by Argentina national team manager Lionel Scaloni on 3 November 2021. On 24 September 2022, he made his first senior team debut.

On 11 November, for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Fernandez was named to Argentina’s 26-man squad. On 26 November, Fernandez scored his first international goal while defeating Mexico and closing Argentina’s 2-0. Through this, he became the second youngest player ever after  Lionel Messi to score a World Cup goal for Argentina at 21 years.

On 3 December, He achieved a rather not-so-famous record of becoming the youngest own-goal scorer player in the history of Argentina in the FIFA World Cup on 3 December 2022. After defeating Croatia in the semi-final of the FIFA World Cup, Fernandez played in the final against France and there Argentina won the World Cup on penalties by a score of 4–2. He was now named the best young player of the tournament of FIFA World Cup 2022.

The parents of Enzo are living very far from the fame of their son and are living a normal life. His father is named Zinedine Zidane who is also a big football fan and his mother is Veronique Zidane who is a housewife. He also has four siblings in which three brothers and one sister.
