Who is Chris Beard?
Beard, 49, has been teaching in Texas for two years. Before taking over for Shaka Smart in 2021, Beard worked at Texas Tech for five seasons, leading the Red Raiders to the 2019 NCAA championship game.
Beard, a 1995 graduate of the University of Texas, has previously held coaching positions at Fort Scott Community College, Seminole State College, McMurry University, Angelo State, and Arkansas-Little Rock.
