At 90, longtime ‘Sesame Street’ actor Bob McGrath passes away

Children’s Favourite Program “Sesame Street” original cast member Bob McGrath died at the age of 90. The news of their death was confirmed by his family as well as by the Sesame Workshop team through Social media. A sad note was shared on Facebook by his son ” Today we have sad news to share, our father Bob McGrath, passed away at home surrounded by his family”. another side The Sesame Workshop paid tribute to McGrath and remembered his five decades on the Twitter Handle.

Founding cast member of “Sesame Street” Bob gave the original melodies in the show like no other one else and his excellent performance made a sparkling effect on the show throughout the world. They also share a statement after the death “we honoured that such a big personality worked with us and gave the best to the show, we will always be thankful to Mr Bob for his dedicated work to children’s most favourite show “Sesame Street”.

1969 was the year when McGrath First appeared in “Sesame Street” and then he continually works in 47 seasons of the show as Bob Johnson, finally he departed the series in 2017, however, he represents in various different years in the last few years. The actor also has the skill of a musician, and he also performed in the “concert halls from Las Vegas to Saskatchewan” many times as told by Sesame Workshop. McGrath is also remembered for his popular songs, which were created for “Sesame Street”. Some of his songs like “sing a song” and “People in Your Neighborhood” were so Popular among the children. Another cast member of “Sesame Street” named Alan Muraoka also paid tribute to his ideal man ” he was such a role model for us.

One of his friends Muraoka paid tribute on Instagram through these words “I can not express my feelings for Bob, he was everything to me, my role model, friend, mentor. his kind nature and great sense of humour were such a blessing to us. May god give courage to your family members at this painful time”

Cathlin McGrath daughter of Bob also confirmed his death through the official email on Sunday. she told that the cause of death is a complication issue after the heart attack. she added the night before his death we all are decorating his room for Christmas and also sang with him. his character portred as  Bob as was reliably smiling, very polite, easygoing and mostly he was singing the song “People in Your Neighborhood”
