Shea Christopher Patterson, a quarterback with the New Orleans Breakers of the United States Football League, was born on January 17, 1997. (USFL). He participated in collegiate football with the Ole Miss Rebels and the Michigan Wolverines (2018–2019). (2016–2017). In 2020, the Kansas City Chiefs signed him as an undrafted free agent. The Texas Rangers selected him in the 2018 Major League Baseball draft, and they have his rights through 2024. Patterson made his transfer to the University of Michigan to play for the Michigan Wolverines official on December 11, 2017. In most cases, NCAA football student-athletes who switch schools while still having more than one year of eligibility must wait until they can play again. Patterson requested a waiver in order to be instantly eligible to play for Michigan, saying that the Ole Miss coaches had deceived him about the pending NCAA inquiry during his recruiting. Ole Miss formally opposed to Patterson’s waiver appeal, stating that they disagreed with his stated transfer-related justifications.
The news that Patterson will be instantly qualified to play for Michigan was made public on April 27, 2018. Patterson’s initial transfer waiver application was withdrawn in response to a new NCAA-approved modification to the transfer waiver rules. A fresh application—supported by Michigan and Ole Miss—was then submitted and accepted.
