New Yorkers share what it feels like to be able to smoke marijuana freely on the streets

When recreational marijuana use was legalized in New York state in March, much of the change wasn’t immediate. But one noticeable difference immediately became apparent: While it’s still not legal to buy or sell marijuana in New York City, smoking a joint on the streets is no longer a crime.
