Mandatory for those traveling from Brazil to Europe, the PCR test for the novel coronavirus will be offered free by TAP to all passengers with company tickets. The exams can be taken in any of the 11 cities in which the company operates in the country.
The initiative is valid for tickets purchased until May 31, through the TAP website or through travel agencies, for routes departing from Brazil until July 31.
Due to sanitary issues, the company now also offers free modification of reservations.
“The customer must register and if he is eligible, he will receive a voucher to be able to access the network of TAP partner laboratories”, specifies the company.
Although direct flights between Portugal and Brazil resumed in April, after more than two months of ban, only essential trips are allowed: those intended to allow the transit or entry of citizens for business purposes, d ‘studies, family reunification, for health or humanitarian reasons.
The entry of Brazilian tourists has been prohibited, as determined by the European Union, since March 2020.
In addition to the negative PCR test, carried out 72 hours before departure, Brazilians must comply with a quarantine of 14 days after disembarking in Portugal.
Quarantine for passengers from Brazil is also required for those arriving via a flight with a connection to another country or across the land border with Spain.
