Strong second half propels Lady Owls to win

Greteya Kelley scored 20 points leading the Lady Owls to a 56-48
win over Lipscomb Saturday afternoon in the Convocation Center. The
Lady Owls are now 4-1 lifetime against the Bisons and perfect against
them at home in Kennesaw.
The Nashville, Tenn. university, with an enrollment of less than 2,750 students, kept it close in the first half. The Owls helped by shooting only 27.3 percent from the field and closed out the half down 28-22. The Owls regained the lead in the early second half as they came back from the break and went on an 11-2 run giving them a 33-30 lead.
Junior Brittney Henderson secured the double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds and junior Jennifer Baker scored 10 points and had six steals. The Owls grabbed a total of 22 steals but failed to sink a single 3-pointer going 0-for-7 from beyond the arc.
KSU scored 28 points off Bison turnovers and shot 53.8 percent from the field in the second half.
“We won the game on turnovers,” said Athletic Director Dave Waples, “We really looked good out there in the second half.”
The Lady Owls are now 9-9 overall and 4-2 in A-Sun play. Their next game is against Belmont Jan. 28th in the Convocation Center.
