Berkeley council well within rights
Dear Editor,
They are completely with in their rights to protest this travesty of a war, as is the Berkeley city council. I am 100% opposed to this war and have been since day one. I do not understand your use of a 9/11 connection here. They (and myself) are protesting the war in Iraq (and the many lies that took us there). Nor, in any of their literature do I see them (or myself) referring to insurgents as ‘freedom fighters’. Taking a stand against the injustices of the status quo is the very essence of patriotism. It is what our founding fathers did. I do not question their patriotism as much as I question your blind jingoism.
