While my car gently weeps
On the afternoon of Friday, April 3, officers were called to the North Deck in reference to items stolen out of a vehicle.  The complainant stated that he was missing two guitars, totaling approximately $700.  He said there were several males playing on the ramp close to his car the night he was parked there.

Domestic dispute
On Friday, April 3, police were dispatched to University Place apartments for a domestic dispute call.  An occupant of the apartment called because she was scared for her roommate who was inside the apartment fighting with her boyfriend.  She stated there was loud yelling and banging around inside that scared her, so she called the police.  Inside the apartment, the roommate’s boyfriend stated that they had been in an argument over rumors, but it hadn’t gotten violent.  He said he could understand why the complainant had gotten scared, because they had been very loud.  The girlfriend’s story was the same, and police completed a Student Judiciary Form for the boyfriend and girlfriend.

All gone!
On the afternoon of Friday, April 3, police were dispatched to University Village in reference to the smell of possible burnt marijuana. Upon arrival, officers smelled a faint smell of burnt marijuana along with the strong smell of cologne.  The resident in the apartment allowed officers to enter and they went to the door of the bedroom where the suspected marijuana was being burned.  The occupant opened the door and stated that he did not have any more marijuana because he smoked it before they got to the apartment.  Officers searched the bedroom and did not find any contraband.  A judiciary was filed in reference to drug use in the dorms.

Yo quiero…
On Saturday afternoon, April 4, an officer was on patrol on foot in the North Deck in reference to several cases of thefts from motor vehicles in the area.  While walking the area, the officer noticed movement inside a vehicle.  He stopped to determine what was going on and observed an overhead light turn on, showing two subjects igniting a lighter.  The officer approached the vehicle and saw a male and female subject, smoking something out of a dark pipe.  When a flashlight was shone in the window, the officer could see thin clouds of smoke circulating along with Taco Bell bags in each subject’s hands.  Once the window was rolled down, the smell of burnt marijuana was prevalent and the subjects admitted to smoking.  They handed over the pipe that was still burning the suspected marijuana, along with a clear plastic wrapper that contained a green leafy substance.  The male subject claimed the pipe and marijuana and was arrested for VGCSA less than one ounce.  The female had a judiciary form completed on her and was released.

“Might have lapsed”
On Sunday, April 5, officers conducted a traffic stop on Busbee Parkway on a vehicle with an expired tag and showing no insurance.  The driver stated he did not have his license on him because he left his wallet at home.  When asked, the driver stated that his insurance “might have lapsed.” When searched, the driver’s name came back with his license being “Suspended All.” Officers arrested the driver for expired registration, no insurance and driving while license suspended/revoked.

KP fight
Police were dispatched to KSU Place apartments on Sunday, April 5, in reference to a fight.  The complainant had two lacerations on his face that were bleeding so police had an ambulance sent.  The complainant stated that he came to his apartment and started arguing with his roommates’ friend about an incident that occurred last spring.  When the complainant went to leave the apartment, the friend stood up, pushed him and hit him, knocking him down into the kitchen.  The two began to fight in the kitchen and the hallway.  Officers noted footprints on the bedroom door and a hole in the hallway door.  The friend fled from the apartment after the fight, and officers wrote a warrant for his arrest for battery and criminal trespass.

More parking deck theft
On April 5, a complaint was filed for items stolen from a vehicle.  The victim stated that her GPS system was taken out of her vehicle when it was parked in the North Deck.  Her GPS mount and car charger were also stolen, the items totaling $300.
